Raising money

Hi Guys,

I've put my car up for sale on a various Facebook pages but unfortunately time is of the essence and was wondering if anyone has had any luck with Raffling the sale of a car? 100 tickets at £100 each would get me the 10k I'm hoping for the car or break it down to more tickets with cheaper tickets.

If anyone has any experience or advice I'm all ears.

Now for the reason I'm selling it.......

My partner was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis 9yrs ago, at present there is no cure for this auto immune disease but there is a treatment that can halt it in its tracks but they don't offer it in this country (well they do but in very limited numbers, due to funding). She has been accepted by a specialist hospital in Mexico to undergo treatment in April 2017 but the cost is £45,000. The treatment is called HSCT and it basically comprises of stem cell replacement and Chemotherapy. They harvest her stem cells, destroy her immune system with Chemotherapy, then replace the stem cell which start to rebuild her immune system. The process effectively reboots her immune system. The success rate is approx 85% and is as close to a cure as you can get but she will be away from our family for 28 days with her mum as her carer in Mexico. Then when she comes home, she will be homebound for approx 2 months except for blood tests and bi monthly low dose Chemotherapy to rid the body of any remaining cells. Its pretty brutal but it is the lesser of two evils.

So the sale of my car will go a long way to getting her on her journey and allowing her to grow old with our children.

Thank you for your time.

Sorry to hear this Bryan. Have you looked at crowd funding? I saw an article on the local TV news at lunchtime about a young woman who'd raised the money for equipment for her disability in a relatively short time. I don't have any experience of it but thought it might be worth mentioning.

Bryan, do you have a Facebook page for this, maybe we could ask Karen to put a share of it on the MMA FB page as well?
