The interceptor is my all time favorite car, would love to have even just a bog standard Falcon.

The bloke says about it being the original, but as far as i am aware, there was only one "hero" car in the original Mad Max, and its in a bit of a bad state in some motor museum in florida, i suspect this is a really good clone as almost all of the original cars were scraped, and i think it was by sheer luck the original wasnt scrapped and sat in someones driveaway for years.

Very interesting Chris...thanks for the info :thumbright:

I love the cars in the original film too. The Nightriders car was great and the MFP cars were cool as hell. Lets not get onto the bikes.....Z900s were the subject of many a daydream when I was a kid =P~

The original car was in the Birdwood Motor Museum in South Australia then went to the Cars of the Stars Museum in Keswick which has now closed, so it may now be in Florida.
There was a perfect replice built over here on an XB Coupe, which the owner took to Australia when he emigrated about 2008 ish.
I have photos of this car and the MFP 4 door together at Billing.

The Falcon Coupes are the ultimate muscle shape and just fabulous, especially when being thrown around Bathurst.

There a pretty nice MFP tribute car that turns up at ACE on Oz Day. Don't see it any other time !

Adrian took his car to Australia where he now has the Mad Max museum.

John built his car and may still have it. Built as a 'Big Bopper' replica.

Paul took this Fairmont and turned it into the original Interceptor that Max drives at the start of the first film.

Now:-

A lot of work went into these cars.

Oh, and the best looking racecars EVER were these two:-

I'm getting old, the pics were from Billing 2003 , 13 years ago.
The black XB is the one that is now the MFP replica.
The front shot of the XC Cobra you can see the Interceptor next door, Matt Snowball's XY wagon behind and a yellow VH Charger 770 which did belong to Mike Sturgeon.
There were alos a large number of Holdens at this show, we managed somehow to corral all the Aussies together of all brands.
This was the year that we persuaded Classic American to do an Australian Special.

there is little debate that this is the real mad max car

this is a good site for mad max chat

that junkyard show, obviously a real mad max car but the conversion to a real supercharger is worth a watch

this guy also claimed it was a real mad max car which the builder of it laughed at ..
