I'm boning up on the ins and outs of rebuilding my 727 auto.
Reading the transmission handbook, Carl Monroe, they suggest " Door Ease " for assembly of seals.
What is a suitable equivalent i can get in the uk ?

Or what do you use ?

Hi Mate
When I did my city and guilds I was told petroleum jelly from the chemist its the same as vasoline but without the additives. It mixes with automatic trans fluid and only wash the parts with paraffin as that mixes as well as they all derive from the same source.
Other people may use other things but I have been building them for over 40 years and they work for me.

And please don't use any gaskit seal on the sump as it has a way of coming loose and getting into the gearbox
