Kia Sorento Engine Problems

I have 2006 Diesel Kia Sorento.
I have a problem with the engine cutting out when you put you foot down.
If your driving at about 30-50 mph then accelerate to overtake etc the engine cuts out.

Fuel tank and filter on pick up are clean
Fuel filter is new and clean, (not genuine kia filter)

Took it to a diesel specialist a few weeks ago and they couldn't find anything wrong.

Any ideas?

My mate says below

Do you know if the sorento has any DTCs logged? It could be a number of things. does it make a chuffing noise at idle, like a train?

Hi, sounds fine on idle, no odd noises.
Had AA man plug it in and no codes came up.

Our diesel Jeep developed a similar trait - can you replicate it by simply revving the engine hard in neutral (just gun it, lift off - does it cut out)?

It turned out to be a high-pressure fuel line that had split, and while it wasn't leaking much it was letting in enough air to mess up the fuel delivery and cause the engine to cut out. Wasn't throwing any codes, either...

Thanks, I will give it a try, fuel lines seem ok though
