Hi racers
Its not set in stone yet, but i'm tryin to organise an 1/8 mile drag sprint on the start / finish straight at Speedfest.
I'm currently in discussion with the organisers, but in the meantime am trying to gauge the amount of interest in participation.
Your can be road legal or not, but must be a drag car.
Let me know please asap if you are interested.
Thanks
Don

Fantastic idea, Don.
Great to promote both American cars and Drag Racing with a community that does not see this type of car.

Roydon may be able to get the Barracuda running again for this.
Question to ask the Management - Is Nitrous Injection allowed?
They may not be up to speed with this and have concerns, so it is better asking early on.
Cheers

If i'm honest, i dont think its a good idea to raise that just yet.
I'm still trying to convince them its safe and no damage to the track.
Just want to keep things low key for now and get it approved.
Also, i'm looking to the future and how i can further develope this idea.
The main thing that worries me is the camber of that particular stretch of track, thats why i want to do the risk assessment later this month.
Thanks for your input mate

Where we're at is the Speedfest team are all for it, its the circuit manager i have to convince.
So when i have the meeting with them later this month i plan to keep it simple, damage to the track is the main point of contention at the moment so thats what i want to concentrate on.
Once i've got it approved, then i'll go through the 'finer' points about what is and is'nt allowed, ie nitrous etc, but no doubt i'll get a list of do's and dont's

The latest on this is that i have to go with my car to Brands Hatch for trials next Tuesday 25th. If i can get this approved it'll be open to all drag racing cars, road legal or not, but there will no doubt be some stipulations.
I'll update on this hopefully next week after my meeting
