Hi there everyone,
My name is Karl, I joined up in March. I own a 1970 Dodge Charger. I should have really got on here before now, apologies, but I've never been part of a forum before and I've been very busy.

My Charger 500 arrived from Missouri in late Feb and it's with John Castleman, my restorer.... John and his boys recently stripped it down ready for the acid bath and then we can begin the rebuild...

I've met a few members at some of the shows, I look forward to meeting more of you guys in the future.

All the best

PS - I'm making a documentary about my endeavours with this, my dream car... I hope to interview a few of you about your love of Mopars & USA classics

Thanks for he welcome guys, appreciate that.

Colour scheme? I am a big fan of Derek Carter's Charger colour, it isn't original but that Browny colour pops.

I love Silver (Charger - that SIlver & Black colour scheme is fabulous...what a GREAT car you have!!!) but I'm now thinking a dark bluey / Silver colour I saw on a neighbours car...

WIth a black vinyl roof... and all black alloys complete with tyres that have white writing - not low profile tyres... the interior was blue, with seats in good nick but nothing else, so I'm going for black interior now as that will match the roof. Plus I picked up really pukka original black seats from a new friend in Slough who was/is stripping down his Charger to make it lighter for the drag strips...

The 440 it came with isn't original, so I think I'm never gonna win any prizes for being "most original" or anything so why not go my own way like Del ?

But... every now and then I think a burgundy colour might be fun...

Plus, I'm thinking of a custom decal... perhaps, a tribute to my other half who had been instrumental in making this dream come true for me... But these decisions won't have to be made for some time...

The Bronze on my Charger is very close to the original Bronze colour of 1968, but after the garage fire it was painted with water based paint and I had to go one shade out.

(At this point tradition dictates that I come back with some kind of reply along the lines of "well, 3rd choice. But I guess 68s are getting hard to come by" etc e tc etc... but I cant bring myself to do so :) )

You are rescuing one AND with a very well reputed shop. Keep us all updated with pics/progress. Very happy for you - chargers rock. :thumbright: (Mines not an original colour either - doesnt matter. Do what make ya happy !
