I did, some six months back. I then spend all year working on it and then figured I'd attended no events and I think I'm done, Blue.
As I've said before, it's very remote down here for Yank muscle cars, no scene as such. Just me and Mike much of the time.

Gutted to hear your selling Miles. I know what you mean though. Its the same up here car wise. I was looking forward to seeing you and Cathy for a beer or two at the weekend. You missed out on sitting in a cold beer tent then walking back in the pouring rain to get in a wet tent.

Yes, sorry Ade, me and Cathy were particularly hoping to catch up with you guys as it's always a pleasure.
Car wise, I just always seem to be doing something extra and each time I think I'm done, there's something else, just running out of commitment I think.

Leave it in the garage till next spring and see how your feeling then
.Im in the same boat at the moment fixing all the niggles . I often run out of enthusiasm or funds but hope to get back to having a long distance cruiser again.I only get to the Mopars and this year although enjoyable wasn't the same not having a car there.I hope you change your mind Miles all the best to you and Cathy.

Shame to see Miles but understand your frustration.

I'd always have the issue though of wanting to replace it with another classic though......and so the game begins again.

Maybe worth getting the issues solved and give it another year.......being off the road always kills the enjoyment of such beasts!

The only thing keeping me sane is the thought of one issue solved is one less to do.....

I hadn't driven my car since coming home from last years nats. Took it for mot yesterday and have taken it off sale for now. It did 260 miles between mots.
Sit back and have a think,unless you need it out the way or the money would be better in the bank.
Of course,you could always move to England.

I've said it before Miles but your Roadrunner sits just right in my eyes and I can only imagine the grin you must have driving it, I know I would have one. When I bought my Charger there was no classic car club/scene in the Western Isles where I lived and I had the only Yank...in fact I possibly still own the only Yank on that island

I'm with Ade & Latil unless you need the space or money in your pocket I'd sit on it over the winter and see how you feel in the spring, you may just be having a wobble.

I sat on mine for 18 years or so off the road!!!!!
Now I can't wait to get it back on the road-Is there anything anyone of us on here can help with????

What sale again ............. you know you will regret it as soon as it's gone Miles.

Just take her out when weather is good, don't worry about car club scene just think of that smile on your face when driving even for a short run.

then leave her in the garage till next time you have a drive, just remember Miles these cars are not new so they always have a little issue here and there.

Think hard on it mate as having something to play with is better than not having any.

Luckily, it's not a case of needing money or space, more of an existential 'why have these cars when I'm always working on them?', sort of thing.
I'm fighting a couple of jobs currently. One is straightforward but tricky, the other is somewhat more difficult to figure.
I picked up my spanners yesterday, started the first job (steering coupler rebuild), and just thought 'Bananarama! it, I'm over this'. Closed the garage door and walked away.

Incidentally, if anyone is reading this with half a mind on buying it, the car is running strong and I'm driving it most days, but these cars are never really finished, it seems.

STICK WITH IT MILES, YOU OBV LOVE IT HAVING BOUGHT IT BACK, Leave it parked a while and start fresh the jobs you have to do will feel easy then,

I think my steering coupler on the Fury cost £12 and took an hour and a half to do

Latin, I just took the lid off and filled it with grease for now until I can get the one year special parts for it.

Went for a drive early and it was a good one.
