August 11 -13 @ old Warden probably the biggest hot rod show of the year with the usual smattering of muscle cars, great location and a pretty good bash if any of you fancy it, a few of us usually go. Jeff Brown formally of this parish is flying in for it so be good to catch up with him and be good to meet a few more of you!

Don't fancy travelling down to be told ... no it's a 73 public car park. We always end up with a jobs worth marshall at shows other than American ones.

Might be worth checking whether the impose that rule at this event... I know they do (or try to) at the Hot Rod Drags but I don't remember them being that picky at this one... :-k

We are going for the whole weekend, with the Challenger. its a 70 to look at.

I think the date for show cars is pre 72 body style, so Cudas / Challengers can scrape through as the shape is from 70. That's just my take on it and a 73 is not much different to a 72.

I know their flyer says pre-73 but how many of the people they have vetting the cars coming in, actually know a 70 cuda from a 71 or 72 or 73 ?

Your reg no might have an 'L' for example but it doesn't necessarily mean it's a 72-73 car; it could be a 1970 that was first imported and registered in 72 or 73 ;)

For example, our 69 Sport Satellite has had an 'S' reg since it was imported in 78. If anyone asked, they'd have to take our word for it, that it's a 69, unless they know their Plymouth model years... :read2:

Oh and by the way, I found mention on the 'net yesterday (Rods'nSods maybe?) that the opening time for show cars on Sunday is 9.30am. Public can enter from 10am.
I was sure it was 9am for show cars in recent years, but that might explain why we've been kept waiting at the entrance when we get there around 9am #-o

8-) Lots of burbling V8's rumbling past my workshop today all heading into the grounds of Shuttleworth.

It's great to see and hear but I cant help being a bit envious that I wont be there this year :(

Hope the weather is kind and everyone has a great time :thumbright: Enjoy.

The only time I've been to this (about 25 years ago), they made me park my 55 Chevy in the public car park. Needless to say, I've never been back. Grudges? Me? :D

Had a fantastic weekend, the place was rammed and the weather was glorious. Loads of cars I've never seen before and the standard in general was really high. A few more of you should consider it for the weekend especially if you've got kids, they are well catered for and it's a pretty safe environment for them.
