Headers wrapped or unwrapped?

My RR has wrapped headers and I understand the reasons why the previous owner did so,engine bay temperature and less toasted fingers when changing plugs. My question is do they alter the sound from the engine bay,I was expecting the the pinging that I hear on other high po big blocks but it’s remarkably quiet when it’s running, apart from the obvious off beat idle. Leave as is or unwrap?

Never liked wrapped headers......Corrosion i think is the biggest issue.
If under hood temps are an issue id always go Ceramic Coated.......Bought my dougs headers with CC and the temp difference over the old manifolds is quite significant.
Same time.....If it isnt broke!!!!

My understanding was wrapping will induce corrosion as the moisture gets trapped and held against the steel. It will no doubt quieten it down a bit.
If they've been wrapped many years then best left alone as trying to remove it could result in the headers falling to bits as they are unwrapped.
I am a big believer in "if it ain't broke don't fix it".

But if its had the wrap on for some time it's probably already broke!
Just saying...
