Yep posted this,as a joke, they didn't like it,so when the ban is lifted(24 hours) I will deactivate the account(not that it matters, and who cares) but my point is, they had no rules, I posted it, and not one minute later I was required to re log in, and then was given a love note from the principal, that the post was offensive, and will require a 24 hour penance , wtf really!,why has everyone become so thin skinned? rant done :salute:

Ps: should have logged off of bookface a long time ago... [-(

Heaven forbid you damage their Advertising revenue stream, Drew.

I am sure they are more worried about getting sued.

You are better off without it, sadly there is a generation that cannot draw air without it...."Just had a Poo! LOL!!" - FFS!

I have friends (that aren't kids) who put EVERYTHING they do on FB. Stuck in traffic, on holiday (please break into my house), eating here, going there.... its ridiculous.

One friend organises European road trips for 30+ cars via FB and if you're not on there you don't get updates, itinerary, anything. (Its become one of those things that you can't live with, and cant live without!).

The cat, dog and small rodent vids are the best though. \:D/

Oh yes when the ban is lifted I will post a rant, and then get rid of it,and probably change my name too,the spineless admins wont even talk to me,so cant wait to end it,and yes we have used for lots of trips and show etc. but now I will use insta gram ,since it is a better tool for what I need,I also used FB to keep in contact with folks from out of the country so i will have to contact them and make a change once and for all :P

Never been on it. Never intend to.
I know a few fellow IT guys who are the same. Awareness of information management breeds paranoia I guess.

I don't mind it *too much*, but there's a few things you can do to help.

Firstly, never post anything on there you wouldn't be happy with anybody seeing. For all facebook's chat about privacy once something is posted on the web you have no control over it. It's off out into the ether for all time.
If it was never posted in the first place - noone can see it.

You can "unfollow" people. Click that and you'll still remain "friends" with whomever it is, but you won't see any of their "this is my dinner" / "check out my stunt hamster" posts.
Actually, i'd probably be interested if someone did have a stunt hamster...

Don't give bookface your mobile phone number. You can be searched and found by that alone. Try it - type the mobile number of a friend into the search bar. If they are the sort of person who treats bookface like a diary you can be 99% certain you can find them through their mobile number.

I wish i'd have signed up with ficticious details. I know a lot of my wifes teacher friends signed up to bookface that way so kids from school can't find them.

Exactly this, it's very configurable... unfollow those friends that can't seem to stop posting daily photos of their super-exciting dog walk (same dogs every day in slightly different position) or whatever; unfriend people you find you actually have no reason to be fb friends with (people who asked to be friends because you share a common friend or interest, but you find out they are complete pillocks once you see their whole profile); block those who you don't want anything at all to do with (potential rapists, stalkers, Daily Express readers, etc.)

Then you end up with seeing just posts from people who you're actually interested in keeping up with, plus page & group posts that you find interesting (Mopars UK, favourite bands, TV shows, political parties etc.)... much more pleasant!

Oh yea I usually unfollow most after getting the friend acceptance , and this is not my real name ,so Facebook might have found out, for some reason it is linked to this pic, because I sent it privately to a friend and now am serving a 3 day ban,(this proves the messaging is not private at all) and others have posted the same pic with no ban,so something is up ,and they dont have my cell phone every time it asks I remove it , I really wanted to save my contacts ,so when the ban is lifted I will do that and delete the account, this is exactly why I have a fake name :P
