Running on 7 cylinders?

The header pipe exiting no. 1 cylinder on my 318 isn't getting very hot, suggesting it isn't firing as it should... I took the spark plug out and it was white and dry. My thinking is, if the plug wasn't firing it would be wet with fuel, but the symptoms suggest it is firing, just not getting fuel, possibly due to a stuck valve? Is my thinking correct?

OK, fixed it - turns out it was the plug lead not transmitting a spark!

So true. How many times have I rebuilt a carb only to find it was a loose union sucking air.

Look at your fueling still if your plug is dry and white
