HI There
Been watching for a while, but have decided to join in the fun.
I've a history of restoring various cars and now I feel its time for something cool, have a nice new decent size garage to fill and a fancy for something American. The MOPAR cars appeal to me more than others, except for early Camaro's (but they are way out of budget). So hopefully I will get to a meet or 2 over the year, but being based in the north of Scotland it is not so easy to go and see these things up close.
Very much into the 70's style and have a real fancy for a Roadrunner or Duster maybe even a Challenger (if I save up long enough). Will be asking for advice on what's best, what to look out for and if no-one minds might even pick brains over specific cars.
Happy to do work (mechanical, interiors, paint) not so keen on welding

so a project would be considered, however I'm more interested in cruising in the sunshine with my shades on these days

so we shall see.
Anyway I look forward to talking to you all and getting some cool opinions.
Cheers
Sandy

Welcome!
I think we now have two Scottish "Sandys"
If you like 1st Gen Camaros, look at the Brooklands pictures for the Black '69 COPO car
...and of course some wonderful Mopars to inspire you!
All the best
Pete

Welcome Sandy,
I’m a little closer to you, being in Northumberland.
Good luck with deciding on a car, it’s only money

Its only money !
My neighbour said similar, you can't drive an ISA , as he turned up with his £70K Allard K2 !!
Welcome Sandy, lots of advice on how to spend your money on here.
I would say DON'T buy a pile of bits project, you will be many years not driving it. Best to find something that you can use and improve at the same time, without taking it off the road for too long. I speak from experience. My cool cruiser (73 Challenger) bought in 1993 knowing it would need a resto went back on the road in 2014, one mortgage, two kids and one big health issue later. It nearly never got done, other than pestering from my son.

You can sleep in a car ( even an Allard ) though Matt, you can’t race a house

. Well, unless you own a motorhome that is

Very true, I've seen Pete Barton prove that, I wouldn't like to sleep in an Allard though!
That neighbour also just bought a 1935 Derby bodied Bentley. He likes his toys.

Sounds like a neighbour who knows how to enjoy himself
