I wonder what quantity of drugs it took in 1962 for someone to say "Yes! That's the one for me!"?

more than 30 years ago I bought a 62 plymouth valiant looked like the above, a more door with a leaning tower of power (my first mopar before i know what mopar was ) off the original owner local to me for peanuts, car had no miles on it & kept inside all its life, interior WAS brand new, still had plastic cover on rear seat & he filled the boot with lots of spares he thought he might need before leaving the us, nice blue but bottoms of the doors had started to go.
At the time I had a scrap 67 mustang notchback, rotten as a pear
I tried to fall in love with the valiant because of nice & original it was, but just couldnt do it
god they are ugly
sold it within weeks and kept the nightmare stang

Probably the must ugly american car ive ever owned

It really is just vile, its an old mans car and he would buy it when he is 80 back in about 1952, if a person were honest there is no way would they say any different, I think Chrysler got on the drugs scene at times before 68,

n the 1962 NHRA Winternatonals, Wayne Weihe took home the win in the C/FX (Factory Experimental) class with his Hyper-Pak-equipped Lancer, clocking a 15.67 E.T.[2] Although the bigger Dodges were beginning to appear at drag strips around the country, the "Golden Lancer" of Dode Martin and Jim Nelson was just about the fastest compact on the strips in 1962. Stuffed into the engine compartment was a 413 cu in (6.77 liters) Chrysler RB V8 engine modified by the Chrysler engineers' "Ramchargers" racing team. The Golden Lancer raced successfully in A/FX class and could do the quarter mile in 12.68 seconds at 113 mph.[
