And so it begins....

I have had a moment of clarity and decided NOT to put the Blown BBC in the '57 Chevy, which is a street-only car.
We spent the weekend re-organising the garages, and getting the Altered in a position to finally work on it.
Out is the KB Hemi, and the mock up performed to see the feasibility of running a 454 ci BBC with an 8/71 Blower....
As you can see in the pictures it looks like it could work....
Sump - Plenty of room (unlike the "Y" Block Hemi) - CHECK.
Heads - Plenty of clearance from the Top Rails - CHECK.
Room for Headers - CHECK.
I have so much to learn about this kind of race cars.
I have built plenty of Door-slammers, of which about 5 were 9 second cars purely on the Motor.
However, I recognise that I am really out of my comfort zone on this one; and I do not have the knowledge on what works at a practical level.
Background on the Car:
The Chassis was build by Roy Wilding.
It has a 9" Hauser Rear Axle, and a TH400 with Transbrake built by Roger Luty.
I have had it assessed, and it will tag to 7.50.
In view of the earlier changes, I intend running a TH400-to-BBC Ultrabell as the front of the case has already been cut off to take the TH400-to-Hemi Block.
I will need to fabricate a new Mid plate and a Front Motor plate and a set of Headers.
I have to get a Recip, but that's no biggie.
I also need advice on whether to run Methanol or Petrol. The Heads are Edelbrock REM Performers, and the Block is a (wait for it...) Gen VI 4 bolt main item.
I am going to need LOTS of help and advice, but I would like to get this car out for the 2020 season.
I am based near Cambridge, so I do not know if there are any members located nearby.
Many thanks, and all the best.
Pete
