I am doing a few bits on Henry’s Charger and need an ignition switch,does anyone have one or know if it crosses with something please? Picture for info.TIA

I sure Mr 999 will be along shortly but from memory they are not repro’d, originals are hideously expensive but it is possible to fix a knackered one....

Thanks Blue.Could get away with the electrical part of the switch,the mechanical part could do with replacing but workable.

the modular plastic connector is available new in the UK and takes standard spades

i have plastic printed the bit that breaks inside and i have 6 up for grabs they £20 if you need one covers costs and payment to the geezer who did the CAD stuff for me.

but chances are the springs under the contact have come out and its just flip flapping about and not connecting to the base properly
clean up static and moving contact slap in some silicone grease, new springs drill and pin in the base if need be jobs a goodun

the only other option is a remote mounted triumph switch connected to the cam in the base of the lock by a flexible jointed rod

thats no way to carry on, and is a pig to set up so i gave up

or race car swicthes in the radio tray

Thanks Dave,I’m back in tomorrow so will revert then,our local old school auto electricians are looking at the switch and alternator as I write. Appreciate the information

the lock assembly is assembled and "staked" by hitting hot metal housing with punches near the steering lock... getting it apart is hard work

the locking mechanism that stops you removing the key when it is in "run" is broken on 80% of them.

i'd leave well alone and use the swap it about and file it routine on the door locks to get all on the same key.

i have the mechanical parts of one missing control circuit if henry needs it

otherwise buy an 80s holden 65 amper and fit the guts to the mopar case..

Hi Dave.

We managed to rebuild the switch,it was as you said inside,the springs were loose but the plastic part was reusable. The alternator was rebuilt by our local old school electricians. We did a few other bits for Henry including an MOT and she’s ready for the off again. Thanks for replying to my appeal I appreciate it.
