Morning yes its me again still tinkering with the cortina
I need some info and help please?

I have a 318 with a dart flywheel I think? along with the bell-housing to go with it.

I am mating a Ford T5 to the 318, and thinking of using the V6 11in Ford pressure plate?

My first question is, can I buy a mopar clutch with the same 10 spline drive as the T5 box?
If not ?
Second question is where to buy a mopar pressure plate? best price £??

Mopar use 18 or 23 spline. I assume if you use a 10.5 clutch plate to fit your box, and a 10.5 clutch cover that bolts up to the flywheel you'll be sorted. a decent clutch and brake supplier (if such a thing exsists anymore) would be able to supply UK sourced parts to suit, cluctches in these old cars were not normally brand specific.

both 10 fat spline plates

there is a 9.5 inch one as well. Which i would have used if my clutch was still standard aussie 6 cylinder

i'd buy a 318 clutch from rockauto and use a jeep release bearing

but they are 10.5 inch clutch covers so potentially no good with an 11 inch clutch plate...

lever style cover used with flat profile release bearing
diaphragm plate used with convex profile release bearing

Is there a difference in the bolt pattern on the flywheels?

What I mean is did they change the clutch cover to flywheel bolt pattern on the the later magnum engines 1994 on?

why not just re-drill the Mopar flywheel to take the complete ford clutch?

If it is a UK Ford Box, the pitch of the splines are different even if the shaft diameter and number of splines are the same.

Check carefully...

I was trying to keep a many parts as possible just buy and play

But its something to think about if the clutch dont work out

Yes, I think you should be Ok,

We had a Cobra in at work with a Mopar / European Ford Set up - we had to buy two clutch packages and mix and match them!!!

yeah a mustang box has the 10 spline shaft that is the same as all US and AUS ford T5s

the T5 was used in a jeep for a very short spell but i doubt very much if the input shaft was a ford one

the dakota used an aisin warner ax box and they don't share the spline with ford either. the box had the same front case bolt pattern as the W58 and R154 toyota boxes don't believe chrysler used the T5 i.e a 4 cylinder dakota can supply you with a bellhousing that fits a 318 and a W58 or R154 not a T5

if you are stuck these guys will build you a plate with whatever you want in the middle

have used them to reface aussie chrysler plate before all good

The dakota release bearing works
and you might need a dakota spigot roller and a ford spigot roller to build a custom ford roller in a chrysler carrier

or you can pay $75 + import to get one from a trans swap specialist..... easier to rockauto for a few $$ and get a vice and some sockets out

or set up so you can use a spigot bush in the crank end...which will need to be custom

Well it looks like a I need a Ford V8 302 10.5 plate 1-1/16" 10 spline, as the V6 plate I got with the box is 11in and a small block dart pressure plate.

Still on the subject of clutch plates,

There seems to be a 10 spine clutch plate for the 1963 to 1965 dart, does anyone know which darts had the 10 spine crutches? I just wanted to see if the spines were the same as the American Ford ?-
