What battery ?

So, for the first time in the 5 or so years I've had her, I haven't used the Coronet for about two months. Went to fire her up the other day and she barely cranked, (no great surprise). I put the battery on charge and it showed fully charged after only an hour or so which 'I thought odd, (I have a pretty decent 'intelligent' charger), anyways, still barely cranked so I figure the battery has gone down despite not having had any previous issues.

The thing is, what to replace it with. The US one in there now shows 600A Cold cranking, 750 A at 32deg c and a reserve capacity of 110.

Halfords type batteries showing a CCA of 6 - 700 all seem to indicate an Ah rating much lower than 110, am I wrong in assuming Ah is the UK equivalent to the US 110 Reserve Capacity figure ?

Any advice on this would be welcome, I'm just aware cranking a cold 440 will be more effort than your average 2.5 litre Beemer, want to be sure I get something suitable......

Just bought an 096R for mine which puts the terminals closer to the block than the inner wing. :thumbright:

Yep, Type 096. Avoid Halfords batteries - never had one last more than 3 years. Bosch S5's will last 5+ years. One lasted 10 years!

i have had a lion one for about 8 years well over 5 anyway....a long enough time

euro car parts listed at £100 always on special offer for £40-£70

universally hated by many i believe it is an old school battery best suited to old cars....they seem to fry in 6 months in modern cars based purely on internet car forum vitriol

i've never had a problem with one

cheap and alright

and use PROMO code END80

or here

just peel off the stickers to avoid hot hatch Race battery in a grocery getter "Experts" laughing when you raise the bonnet

Swapped to a 815CCA from Tayna after I got the car up here - arrived next day I think and it's been great so far - certainly makes light work of firing up the 383.
