Some great pictures thanks to Gavin (Mr Norm) here of the 70 Trans Am series, including nearly every car that raced in 70, even Sprites and Spitfires, plus some great people shots.

The full article on hotrod.com is not accessible outside USA for some reason so a bit of backdoor googling to find them.

What is great is the clothing of the race drivers and pit crew. Check out the lime green racing jacket with "Autodynamics Challenger" and "Goodyear" on the back and the pin-striped trousers.

So I now want one of these!!

Whilst not finding a lime green one, I did find this and hit BUY. (I can't turn it round, I have tried!)

Its a Dodge Racing team jacket in red nylon, found in the UK on a web search from an upcycling clothing store.
It may be original or a 70's repro, either way I think it will go with the Sam Posey Challenger.

More digging then found this website. Who'd have known there was so much information on these.

'60s and '70s racing jackets are highly collectable, the Americans pay hundreds of dollars for good examples. I have been after an original for a few years now but I refuse to pay the $600-$800 they sell for...

That's why I grabbed this one when I saw it.
I might look to get some sort of repro of the lime green jacket, even get the badges sewn.

Nice pics at the carsradars link . haven't seen most of those before.

Here's some more 'appropriate attire' for you. (And an appropriate truck)

I like the shirts especially

They are great pictures, I've seen some of the race driver's overalls too, which has also got me thinking. :-k

Great stuff Matt, I have one of those original nylon jackets in red too. Not a race one, but period style. Used it for my occasional jaunts up the strip as it has long sleeves and looks the part.
And zero fire protection 🤭
