'69 Road Runner lost in a storage fire in Cheshire

Post by MartinD »

I've only recently seen pictures of the cars lost at a storage unit in Cheshire back in December, lots and lots of Ferraris, McLarens, Astons etc. One guy apparently lost 22 cars, anyway I noticed the Mopar at the back, a 69 Road Runner, I did wonder why it was missing its hood.........
& then thought A12
Anybody know the car?

Maybe a good sprinkler system would have saved some or even all of them?

Just come across this old thread, sadly the 69 Roadrunner was a genuine A12, really nice car owned by a customer of mine. I did quite a lot of work on the car at the time. Unfortunately the insurance barely covered the value of the car. Tragic loss and the insurance company wouldn’t even let us remove the rare H stamped steel wheels after the fire.
Here’s a link to the car in it’s glory days

Blimey, sorry Pete, my mistake. 2 doors all look the same to me :D :D

That was a really great car. It drew the crowds at the NEC to say the least. I remember helping you clean it and lifting the hood off etc. When I think about it, youve had some amazing, iconic musclecars over the years. Still cant believe that pic of your 2 winged cars in your garage

I cant imagine what the total insurance claim would have been after that fire, not to mention the heartache of losing cars that have undoubtedly had huge amounts of work put into them.

Cheers Steve :thumbright:
