When is it a classic?

Over 20 years old, classic??
My insurance company say no, what does anyone else think?
You don't see them much now, will they suddenly be revered and climb in value like Sierras, Peugeot 205s, early Transits or Mini Vans?
Loads of people get very excited about similar age stuff now, so it may be Retro Classic? Its a 1998, best looking of them.
I'm talking about the 1st UK market Chrysler Grand Voyager. Super luxury for its day, loads of gadgets, turns into a van, tows great (ask Bob Brown).

If anyone reckons these may be the future sleeper classic, speak up, as I need to sell mine. Still going at 171,000 miles.

In 2007 I bought a 15yr old Cavalier GSI 2000 and managed to get classic insurance on it!

I bet you wish you still had it now, great cars that have all disappeared.

I do actually Matt. I only paid £290 for it. Rock solid underneath with a full service history. The wheel arches needed doing but I had a lot on so sold it.
I had two before that. They are very rare now!

Interesting and vast subject is this,I considered paying a bit over £5k to own a delivery mileage Lada Riva last week,when I sold them new they were £2995 at one point

What’s a classic I think comes down to what you personally like,other definitions are opinions I reckon.

A colleague had a Lada Niva 4 x 4 recently, with a snowplough, and was pestered to sell it, he did eventually and doubled his money in about 6 months.

Don't laugh at me but I actually have a soft spot for classic Eastern Block cars (and trams). Something about the simplicity and culture of the cars and the trams are just lovely looking things. I've been on a few trips to Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary etc and always gravitate towards the old classics still being used.
