Yes they will work, you have taken out the restriction under the valve basically.

I’d block the heat riser as well if I was me…

I have ordered a set of stock replacement Molnar rods and a set of Diamond lightweight racing pistons ,not sure what the final comp ratio will be as the block is being decked and honed as we speak but it should come out somewhere around 12.1 ....Block is being honed ,decked ,1/2 inch oil pick up fitted along with studs for the main caps .So pretty basic upgrades for a stock engine .....cam is a bit up in the air at the moment as i plan on getting one ground by Hughs

Are you going to run C12, or 99 octane with a splash of Race gas?

Having never personally blocked off a Heat riser, although I understand the benefits, how do they block them off ?

Do they fill with an epoxy or something else ?

Epoxy if you’re posh or melt an old piston down and pour that in if not….

Is that harder valve seat inserts installed there?

Is that best policy with no lead, even on US engines where they went lead free alot earlier than Europe?
I assumed the seats were hardened as standard or is that only 72 on?

Valve seat recession with unleaded fuel hasn't proved to be a problem with the limited mileage we do in these old cars Matt.

It's a filthy job to do but worth it in the end.
