Our EuroNats

I was a bit sceptical when Tony suggested adding the Thursday back in 2019 (i think), what with no facilities expected to be open, but it worked out well for us, bagging a nice spot up by the big top, even tho we didnt arrive till just after 3pm.
Well it was a nice spot for 24 hrs till the Friday afternoon rains gave us our own little paddling pools where we'd parked the Dodge
Before that tho, we were treated to Jason's moonshine story soon after he'd unloaded the 66 Coronet.
We also made use of the daylight hours before beer o'clock, to fix the fuel leak that we'd discovered under the Plymouth en route, which was dripping from the fuel sender gasket

Having booked a RWYB ticket for the Friday, we didnt want to get caught dripping fuel on the track, but as it turned out, we needn'd have worried
By the time we'd got the sender back in and as far as we could tell, without any leaks, it was well past beer o'clock
I didnt even get my camera out on Thurs - this first bunch are a couple from my mobile and the rest by my son Andrew...
Spoilt for choice -Thurs 3pm

Still having problems with 'portrait' photos not rotated correctly, so apologies for any sore necks...
Friday started off reasonably bright and dry, with the track dryer working hard from 9ish, but occasional drizzle which turned into something much more substantial mid-afternoon, meant there was no racing all day. It did stop around 6-7pm (well past beer o'clock so I cant be sure

) but too late to get started
As you can probably tell we were quite taken with Jason's Coronet so more apologies if there's a few too many Coronet pics

Saturday was an altogether better day, with racing right thru till about 5 when a 4dr Falcon decided to drop the contents of his sump and cooling system almost the whole length of the track. By the time that was cleared up, it started raining so there was no more racing and we were robbed of seeing more NSS rounds

After the promise of better weather on the Sunday, we woke to cloudy skies but no rain, well not until the track had been prepped for about an hour
We could have left the tents up till later in the day in the hope that it would dry up a bit but it really did look set in for the day, so we decided to pack up in the rain, which was probably the least enjoyable hour or two that I've spent at the Pod in all these years
By the time we'd got everything into the cars, the chosen few were starting to gather in the pits, behind the grandstand, for the 'show and shine' (or 'shower and shine' as someone called it) awards ceremony.
And as luck would have it, the rain eased and even a bit of sun started to peep thru just as Stuart Keen kicked off proceedings!
Soon after the awards were done the skies had cleared enough and the track was prepped again ready for the race classes to try and get through their remaining rounds, so by about 3.10, after maybe 40% of the NSS field had already left, racing got under way

Cheers for sharing the photos, didn't make the Nats this year, as we were travelling back from a sunny family holiday on the Isle of Skye
