Hi Derek

I’m looking for a 1970(ish) Challenger to take part in a cover shoot for Classic Cars magazine. The shoot will be at Dunsfold in Surrey later this month (date TBC).

It needs to be a standard car in a photogenic colour, in excellent condition inside and out. The owner needs to be happy for me to drive the car briefly (and fairly gently – no performance testing or anything) so I can write driving impressions. It will be covered by the magazine’s insurance for this.

Do you have anyone in the club with a suitable car who might be interested? We’ll give the MMA a mention in the article, of course.

I'm game--I just sent Andrew an email letting him know that I would be interested in the opportunity. I sent him a few pics of my Challenger, I'll see what he thinks.

Took part in the photo shoot for the Classic Cars mag this past Thursday; it was held at the Dunsfold Aerodrome, home of the Top Gear track. The theme of the article is to highlight those 60/70 cars who have a modern version. So besides my 1970 Challenger, they had a 1957 Mercedes 300 Gullwing, 1972 Renault Alpine, Mk I Mini, 1960s Fiat 500, Fiat 124, and VW Beetle—So quite an eclectic mix. The photographer was great, very enthusiastic and professional—long day but overall fun—great talking with the other owners. Article projected to be in the February 2022 edition. I’ll follow up once they finalize the details of the article.
