NEC Classic Motor Show 2021 (Friday)
Posted: Sun Nov 14, 21 1:34 am
Just me and the lad this year, as Stu couldn't get the time off work. Truth be told, we both left it late (Tuesday) to decide, by which time, he couldn't get the day off, but luckily me and Andrew, could
Normally, we book the time off well in advance and always go on the Friday as it's the quieter day, but hesitated this year cos of the covids, not knowing how it would affect the 'experience', but as it turned out, didn't affect it too much to be honest.
Whilst the NEC website's covid page shows a pic of someone holding up their double vaccination card, it also says you need to do a test on the day and show the result, so as no one else seems to accept the vax card as proof, we did the NHS test in the morning, got the NHS text (even more fakeable than the card
) only to be told once we were queuing to go in the NEC that they do accept the vax card
Once inside, it appeared that a fair few others had decided to give it a miss at it was noticeably quieter than usual, even for a Friday. Which was nice
I'm sure it'll pick up over the weekend tho...
The MMA 'stand' let the cars 'do the talking' more than usual this year, with little or no club paraphernalia but 3 stonking b-bodies that looked to be very popular with the punters during the 1/2 hour or so that we were there. It was great to chat with Jason, Dave, Craig and Wendy and a quick Hi to Pete!
I was going to post shed loads of pics now but my portable hard drive that I keep my photos on has just decided to play up, having spent a couple of hours sorting thru nearly 300 photos from Friday. I still have them on the SD card so I'll post some pics one I've either got the hard drive working or sorted the photos out again
