Battery leak and isolator switch

I'm hoping someone can help please. The battery in my car started leaking recently, it was only 2 years old. So last month I replaced it with a new battery (EXIDE EB705) and that has started leaking too. Someone mentioned it could be a faulty alternator voltage regulator causing discharge.

Or would a battery isolator switch cause this?

I removed it today and the car is running a load better.

You need to measure the charging output to know what is going on.
The easiest way is to measure voltage rather than current output.

Ideally the voltage should be around 14.6v max across the battery and should not spike higher when the revs go up...

Hi Pete,
Thanks for the information. I’ll check it.
