0-60 times.

One of the questions I get asked a lot is “what does your car do 0-60?’ Along with “what does it do to the gallon?” And “how much horsepower?” All get met with a shrug, but then I came across a chart to indicate your 0-60 MPH from your 60ft time. So if you’ve been down the track, you can impress people you don’t know…

2.3 second 60' time = 35.5 mph @60' = 7.0 second 0-60 time
2.2 second 60' time = 37.1 mph @60' = 6.5 second 0-60 time
2.1 second 60' time = 38.9 mph @60' = 5.9 second 0-60 time
2.0 second 60' time = 40.9 mph @60' = 5.2 second 0-60 time
1.9 second 60' time = 43.0 mph @60' = 4.6 second 0-60 time
1.8 second 60' time = 45.5 mph @60' = 4.0 second 0-60 time
1.7 second 60' time = 48.1 mph @60' = 3.4 second 0-60 time
1.6 second 60' time = 51.1 mph @60' = 2.9 second 0-60 time
1.5 second 60' time = 54.5 mph @60' = 2.2 second 0-60 time
1.4 second 60' time = 58.4 mph @60' = 1.5 second 0-60 time
1.36 second 60' time = 60.0 mph @60' = 1.36 second 0-60 time
1.3 second 60' time = 62.9 mph @60' = 1.2 second 0-60 time
1.2 second 60' time = 68.1 mph @60' = 1.1 second 0-60 time
1.1 second 60' time = 74.3 mph @60' = 0.9 second 0-60 time
1.0 second 60' time = 81.8 mph @60' = 0.7 second 0-60 time

That’s useful thank you.my 1.9 gives a respectable 4.6 seconds. I’ve always guessed it as about 6-7 seconds so chuffed.

I picked up my 3.90 pumpkin from Hauser yesterday and there was a box next to it with your name on,also got a Six Pack style bonnet and a 400 block to start on my stroker build on my travels yesterday.

Yes I dropped my diff off at Hauser’s Thursday to get the sure grip checked and have a forged 1350 yoke fitted. My 1.50 60ft gives me a 0-60 of 2.2 seconds so no wonder it saw the prop off. You’ll probably be quicker than that when you get that stroker built.

Oh yes, with a bit of luck I’ll get the front wheels in the air with the stroker.

Low first gear set in the trans is one of the keys to a killer 60ft, especially in a heavier car.

The gearbox will need uprating so I’ll remember that thanks. Going to try very hard to keep the car looking like it does now as I really like it’s vibe, but I’ll need a cage too.

I can sort the trans if you want. Shouldn’t be hard to keep the car looking as it does now, you only need a bar to run at permitted events, you don’t have to add any additional safety equipment to run at lifestyle events unless you want to.

My 60fts presently are woeful, hopefully we can correct that this season. I used to average 1.22’s on last chassis, not great, but better than the current 1.35’s
Ideally, we should be in 1.10’s…. But talk is easy :D

I reckon if we all had a penny for every time those little nuggets came out, we’d all be able to afford Barrett Jackson cars.

Fun little conversion chart, that. I’ll look forward to checking it after the next RWYB. :thumbright:

Yes, Jim Chandler with his Trans Brake achieved a 1.28 60 foot time - I believed he mentioned it once or twice.....

I am currently sitting at a less impressive 1.38 60 foot time, just foot braking it at present.

Let's hope we can get more success with the Trans Brake this season....
