Bicester Heritage, Sunday Scramble Oct 6th

Booked this back in April, so like many events these days, had to hope the weather would be ok, but it turned out ok on the day, despite an iffy forecast. Took the Plymouth for the 110 mile round-trip as the Dodge is still 'up on blocks'
And as so often happens at 'classic' car meets, the people with the hi-viz credentials didnt know whether our car was pre or post-1990, nor the N-reg MX5 and VW Corrado that parked next to us
So the 'pre-1990' car park was mostly Porches and not-so-classics, but in and around the historic RAF buildings there was a good mix of what we'd actually gone there to see...
Oh and yes that is Jay Kay looking at the Renault Turbo...

oops sorry about that last one
That was a 10 year old boy with a gift for painting, especially cars, but he wasn't actually doing it upside down... he wasn't THAT good
Last lot

Great selection of stuff there, love the Doe Triple D.
I still get enraged at black and silver plates on anything after 73, it is WRONG.

I know what you mean but not as annoying as converting a nice old Bentley to EV

I bought an HS Chevette off my mate for a grand because he wanted it out of his lock up. I put an advert in Motoring News and
Sold it for £1500.00 a couple of weeks later, it was a nice car as well running twin Dell Ortos

Cool pics as usual. Normally attend this, had tickets but didnt realise i was away the weekend at a mates 60th so passed the tickets to a friend.
Very few yanks this time? The 65 Vette roadster belongs to a neighbour of mine
I was gonna book for January, noticed another price hike on the entry.

Thanks for posting. Love the SM. I think the colour is D'or Simian or something similar (Monkey Gold).

I know what you mean, like everything else, prices seem to be going up each year but, I've looked back at the Scrambles we've been to:
2020 Oct - £12.00
2021 Jan - £15.10
2021 Jun - £15.10
2021 Oct - £15.10
2022 Jan - £15.10
2022 Jun - £17.18
2023 Apr - £20.28
2024 Oct - £20.10
So they haven't gone up that much - certainly not a much as Brooklands
But what annoys me now is that, up until this year, you could get parked in amongst the old buildings, if they liked the look of your car but now you have to upgrade your free membership to at least £69 per year for a chance to get selected. If you don't stump up the extra, you're just out on the airfield with all the modern Porches and 1995 MX5's

Likewise

Its the same colour as a Corgi SM I have from when they came out (mid-70s?)
