Does anyone know if the front Discs are different in the Valiant VF/VG compared to the US Dart? I assume the rear drums are identical but the front possibly different due to the RHD variations.

Thanks

In summary yes different all made by different factories to slightly different designs
BUT all meant to mount on the same style and size of stub axle
so it doesn't matter what you get as long as you get a full set and consider the inner hub bearing size and PCD of the Hubs

VF used same as VC VE i think. solid rotor solid mounted calipers think they were PBR
VG used Kelsey hayes pin slider single pot calipers on a bracket...with solid rotors very similar to first year 6 cylinder mustang i belive
VH used Kelsey hayes pin lider single pot calipers on a bracket with vented rotors
VJ VK used Girlock claw slider single pot calipers on a bracket with the same vented rotors as VH
CLCM used bigger wheels bigger rotors bigger rear drums and the calipers were alloy

the stub axles disc
All Australian Valiant
small upper ball joint
small inner hub bearing
caliper mount bolts 3.5 inches apart

US
pre 73
as above
post 73
large upper balljoint taper
larger inner hub bearing

both used the same 3.5 inch caliper mounting

hubs and rotors
all australian fit australian stub axles but pre 71 were 5 on 4 inch PCD post 71 VH onwards 5 on 4.5 inch PCD

US the move from 4 inch PCD to 4.5 inch PCD went hand in hand with the move to big upper balljoint and bigger inner hub bearing

post 73 single pot calipers in the US are a close relative of the VJ VK girlock set-up used in OZ but you can not mix and match parts the caliper is about 1/16 of an inch bigger and therefore must only be used on its US bracket

on an Australian valiant with australian stub axles or pre 73 US A-body stub axles
you can fit any Aussie Disk brake set up
or if you buy complete a US set up
because the calipers all mount on the same 3.5 inch mount pad on the stub

if you wanted to you could use post 1973 US calipers and brackets and stick with the aussie rotors you have

australia basically produced disk brake rotors in 4 inch and 4.5 inc PCD but they both fit a USA pre 1973 style stub axle...
the aussies adopted the balljoint rotor and stub axles from the US mid 60s and changed nothing apart from the PCD of the hubs in 1971

take a picture of what you have and we can probably work out what the next move is.

if you have the stub axles a set of calipers hub and rotors of an A body style car will work regardless of which version you get
if you get stuff off a post 73 US car you will need to stick with your current hubs and rotors or run a bearing sleeve/adapter to cater for the big inner bearing...not tried that so don't know if it will work....DrDiff in the us could help with that...

but rear drums in oz are 9 inch apart from clcm which went to 10 inch in 1978 most A bodies in the US got 10 or 11 inch slant 6 cars got 9 inch. On the front, yes you could fit 67-72 dodge dart calipers to you car and i believe the hubs and rotors should also fit.
