Cuda Rear Window Defofgger?

Hi
My Cudas got a rear defogger unit in the rear parcel shelf- ( Blower screwed to the underside of the shelf and a rear facing vent cut into the top - orrible!!)

Looks like a seventies aftermarket item- Just want to make sure its not some rare Mopar option before I scrap it!- No mention of it on the decode etc but as my car was special Export model I want to be certain.

Heres a couple of pics- anybody seen one before?

Thanks

Mark

Available as an option, but I don't know if that's the original type, I'm not too hot on E bodies, I reckon Robbo will know for sure!

Never had one as an option on an "E", though I know they could come with one.

Had one one the Duster and it looked similarly horrible.

Best keep it lad.

..Thought the thread was "De-frogger" at first.

Now there's a valuable and useful option.

Must be my eyes.

Thanks guys
I know its been on there a long time as Nigel thinks it was there when he had the car way back when.

Looking at the way its fitted made me think it was added as the parcel shelf hole looks like it was cut out with a blunt bread knife and its secured with some very dodgy no matching brackets

anyone else got any info???

Thanks

Mark

Mark, my '71 has the same, it's also specified on the build sheet. Don't get rid of it, I'll take some pics when I get to the car again, it's in storage. It looks very original to me, only the wire mesh is wrong

I would need to see the blower motor under the shelf to see if it is the original type.
