Silly question no.1:
Why does the scoop face away from the direction of travel, surely you get less air into the engine that way????

Its looking good.I love the look of that engine and rad

is that the firing order marked on the side of the air filter plate?and what motor is that?it looks very potent

It uses cowl induction - the high air pressure at the cowl delivers almost as much air as a front-facing scoop, but you don't get as much debris in it, the hood doesn't behave like a parachute at speed, and compared to a flat-to-the-hood scoop the air is always cooler.
I think that covers it

Good answer James,i was amazed to learn that a big block motor like a Hemi or 440 can consume as much air in 5 to 10 minutes as a human would breath in an entire lifetime

Yeah, put your hand behind the exhaust of a big cube car at idle to get an idea of how much air they shift!
