Well I am so excited to have got such a good responce to my question re vacuum hose routing....I wanna ask another!!!

Has anyone/does anyone ever actively use 'similar' floor pans to repair Mopar's??

Like for example, say MGB floor pans?

I know they are totally different etc etc but if they(I only use the B as an example) are roughly similar then to an experienced, professional bodywork repairer it should be okay ??

I say this as my Coronet needs both sides and before I order (yearone?) from the states I thought I'd see if this is considered a no no - for originality reasons or similar maybe?

For the flat panels I don't see a problem fitting wise, but when you get to the curves, you may as well buy the right part because the amount of rework you'll need to do will make using the wrong panel uneconomic...unless you've got all the time in the world and you are bored.

You've also got to think about the strengthening ribs in the floor too, matching those up isn't easy...I ended up making a press tool to make them, but that was only because I needed such a small patch in the trunk, buying a complete pan didn't make any sense as I' be throwing half of it away!

If your's is a decent car, use the right thing...if it's a racer, don't worry about it!
