My mate is trying to sell me this product i am just wondering what you guys think of it?
I think it may be a con?
It is an electrical product that uses an Impressed Current and Sacrificial Anode Technologies in other words it is a 45 volt current passed through 2 Anodes(metal strips) that you attach to the drip rails of the car one at the front and one at the rear. They must be in a place that water will come into contact with them when the car gets wet and it is supposed to cause the Anodes to rust rather than the car by up to 76% or so they claim?
I do not know the Science?but more info can be found at www.ruststoponline.com(but that site may be bias)
Can anyone let me know what you think please?

Sacrificial annodes are used in hot water cylinders & some boilers in the heating industry, some water heaters are made from steel so they use one or two annodes which become sacrificial to the steel(ie annode is eaten instead of the steel)they are replaced during the yearly service,so unless you are going to use your car as a submarine i dont think it will be of any benefit to you

The theory is fine but in practice you will be better off with the old waxoil. ;)

drip rails? on the side of the roof?

surely underside of car is what gets wet , and they would be less obtrusive underneath, if it worked at all.

Dont they have slabs of some metal bolted to railway tracks too to stop rust?

Cheers i am going to Waxoil it anyway and paint the trunk and inside of the hood with Hamerite, and the inside of the bumpers ;)

When i say Drip rails i mean the water channels unerneath the trunk lid and hood.

Pie in the sky me thinks!

Oh, and leave the hammerite on the shelf! Use proper paint or waxoyl.

I've recently been put onto Bilt Hamber as a good rust treatment and I must say I'm impressed with it so far.
