Welcome! Yep, that's a project all right... 383's can produce some power but there was a distinct lack of resonably priced high compression pistons last time I checked. 440 source list some very keenly priced stroker kits for 383's, don't know what your budget or intentions are but it's an option.

Hi Mark,

I'm impressed that you're taking on a project like that at 22! I'm no technical expert, but I know that the 383 and 440 blocks are different (the 440 has a taller deck height) so your plan to use 440 items may not work. Other guys on here are much better placed to give advice than me (they've helped me out in the past) so hold on and I'm sure you'll get some useful feedback!

Good stuff, nice to see more young guys getting into Mopars, got my first one when I was 21. Wasn't a big block though, good on yer :thumbright:

440 is longer stroke than the 383

And you cant beat a long stroke ;) click on home at the top of the page & browse the garage you will see some nice cars in there.Yours is the same colour as my Charger :Mopar: :tongue3:
