It's a 440 4bbl with a performance cam (the details of which i've forgotten, got it written down somewhere), ceramic headers, 3.91:1 gears. Goes well. Wheels are a fairly recent addition, was torn between black or red...kinda like the red.

Had it a year now, reliable and quick, love it.

Yeah it's cooool. The satellite/roadrunner was the one I initially wanted.

I've been going through the old receipts that came with my 69 Sport Satellite and it's prompted me to find out some more history about the car.

It had an engine rebuild in 1999 (5000 miles ago) and i've got details of the work done and components used with a receipt for $4K. The last US owner lived in Roseville California (looked at his house on Google Earth...nice swimming pool) and was imported to the UK in 2004. I'm the 2nd owner (i think) in the UK, the last guy swapped it for a Mustang through California Classic Imports.

I've got to get the details off the tag but i understand it was originally a 383, and i know it was bronze cos i've found some of the original paint.

Does anyone know a website where i can find out more? I was reading a listing on ebay for a 69 sport satellite which said in that year approx 69000 roadrunners were built, 13500 ish GTX's, and 1341 Sport Satellites! Has he missed off a couple of zeros or is my 69 Sport Satellite fairly rare?

Sorry it says nothing about engines except standard was 318.

I seem to remember from years ago looking into production figures for our 69 Sport Satellite, that there were about 19000 all told.
I wouldnt be suprised if 1341 is the number of 383's.
Hemi was an option IIRC, never seen one tho?? Wonder how many of them there were??
Less than hemi RR or GTX I'd wager

By the way, check Adam's pics from Wheels Day in the Events section, there's a pic of Tony Walden's 69 Sport Satellite that is in it's original bronze colour. Should give you an idea.....

The bronze looks cool, but when it's time for a re-spray in a few years it'll stay red.

I had some touch up work done recently and much to my horror this shade is a 98% match to Lada red. The shame!!
