any idea my speedo jumps about after 40mph and also has an horrendous noise to go with it but as soon as you hit 40mph again it disappears

magnetic running slightly out of true banging on the cup?

cable seizing, remove, lube and re-fit, also check the outer has not come loose and is sitting on the exhaust.
