will a small block prop fit a big block? or is it a question i will only find the answer to when i get the engine changed and try it? if they are different does anyone have one they want to sell?

If your small block has a 727 it will be the same, if you have a 904 the yoke will need to be changed and the prop shortened to suit.

how do you tell the difference mate? fingers crossed its a 727!

Have a look here at the difference between the trans pans on the 727 and 904,

I expect you already know that even if your 318 has a 727, a big block won't bolt up to it as the bellhousing pattern is different, the overall length is the same however. If you need a big block 727, let me know I've got a couple in stock.

thanks any way mate but got a 727 with engine (big block)
are these b&m shift kits worth putting in?

Yes I think so, as long as you don't mind a firm shift instead of "limo" smoothness, it will also give you part throttle kickdown on some valve bodies, which is nice...
