Make sure it should ground, a fair few American cars had a live circuit to power a relay, Ford especially used this system and I am sure I have seen it on early Mopars..just a thought.

Yep, the contact is a fine example of proper engineering solutions rather than cost cutting rubbish i.e. Ford scrape and wear contacts
I am working on a '62 Plymouth at the mo, if you want I will have a looksie how that is set up on Monday?

i was just going to sugest the sprung wheel contact .
