Just pulled my old rad off so i can sort out brackets for the new ally rad and need to decide on mountigs for the electic fan. As i will get a new one which is best front of rad or engine side. Most new cars have them engine side so is this best or not :dontknow:

Cheers Andy

I would mount it engine side as it is easier to pull the air through than Bananarama! it will also not interfere with normal air flow when driving i was once told by somebody in the know that pulling the air through will be something in the region of 10% more efficient

Do your research, you'll find most electric fans shift more air pulling than pushing! Also cfm ratings vary a lot depending on the design not just the diameter. Spal, Kenlowe and flex a lite all have good websites with dimensions and all the other tech. My advice? pick the largest fan that will fit the rad, that flows the most air and draws the least amount of current.

Thanks for the info Guy and Blue the one fitted to the car at the mo is on the front and only 12 inches but the new rad will take a 15 inch fan.
