Tell yopu what Al,
universal salvage in Hertfordshire are auctioning off a crashed 68 roadrunner which has everything on it you want except a good grille. Bonnet fine, OSF wing / door / rear quarter fine. All the glass, interior trim AND it had the 727 and 383 still in it. Bid was at ?588 with 3-days to go. All you need is a trade card to bid. Got one of those and there you go, a donor car for probably the ?650 mark.

If this is the yellow one then thats the car I wanted the bits for! What I'd seen of it, the front o/s wing was peeled back like a tin opener had been at it! Bonnet might fix but is bowed.

They were calling it a GTX, but I believe its a Sport Satelite.

Its not on their website now so I don't know if it sold.

Crikes theres a coincidence. Very correct, OSF was the crunched bit not NSF as I said. I must say, you have good eyesight. I assumed it was what they said it was and I couldnt really see state of bonnet.

Did you buy it? It looked like it was going to be a real bargain if it went for the prices I saw it showing. Thought it was a GTX though.

No, I didn't. I wussed out due to storage and cashflow and the thoughts it could have more severe damage hiding, difficulty in getting panels, etc.

Plus it was also to be auctioned "live" and internet bids were to be submitted on the live auction so just because it only went to like ?600-?700 doesn't mean some guy in the hall didn't bid to ?2000 for it.

Plus fees, plus its category C registered as a write off.

I suspect it'll be on eBay before too long :)

always to stick to LH and RH . whoever thought up the nearside business needs shooting! ... 'Hi doctor ,I have a problem with my offside elbow'

Doctor; "Is that viewed from the front or back?" :D

LH and RH - viewed from front of car or from driving seat? I ended up buying two identical fender caps (off different people) through that mistake.

Drivers or passenger side - well I still manage to confuse people with that because when refering to a LHD car some people think driver side still means the offside. driver side is the side with the driver. Left side for a yank, right side for domestic.

offside and nearside makes perfect sense to me at least.

Drivers side and passenger side is a lot simpler...except for Kev, of course! 8)
