new fuel line

I`m upping the size of my fuel line (finally :roll: ) do I use kunifer, or is copper ok? although copper work harden`s & would break if not secured enough,have I just answered my own question ? :shock: also where can I get imperial sized stuff from?

I've got /8AN braided line 1/2" from back to front. Do it once, do it right. Wil does a good deal on the parts. 8-)

Do it in Kunifer rather than copper but it's hard work wrestling with a long length of stuff that dosn't bend easily! I go front to back with a single length of braided line, not cheap but you can make a nice job of it. I like to keep the lines away from header heat and any flying drivetrain debris should something break. With that in mind I run the line on the outside of the chassis rail, along the frame connector, cut a hole through the framerail to sill outrigger, up into the front wheel arch, high up over the top of the suspension and in though the inner wing with a bulkhead connnector about oppasite the alternator, jobs a good un!

If you have a big electric pump don't forget to drop a line size for every fitting in the line, so the least amount of fitings and bends as possible.

if the motor needs twin -06 at the carb this means starting with -10 out of the tank or fuel cell into the filter, -08 out of the pump/filter ( close coupled) up to the reg, then twin -06 out of the reg to the carb

if the motor needs -08 at the carb you start with -12 at the tank

If you have a Holley blue then forget this as the inlet/outlet is tiny anyway, this becomes the restriction.

Take the line that goes to the reg right up to the rad support then back towards the carb, hang the reg on the lines as close to the carb as possible.
Taking the line to the rad support means there is a short peice of line that gravity can act on in your favour pushing fuel to the reg on launch ( the rest of the line under the car gravity works on the fuel in that against you, may as well get a little bit of an advantage back)
Mounting the reg as close to the carb as possible means it will respond much faster
