Leaks And Weatherstripping

My Charger like most of them I suspect leaks water in the boot and somewhere from the windows in to the footwells, I was just wondering do most of you just live with that problem or have you taken any measures to improve the weatherstripping? Trouble is I don't know exactly where it gets in to the boot and I suspect it's the side windows where the footwells get wet, not that I plan on driving it much in the rain but it's annoying nonetheless, cheers

I don't think it's there, i've had a good look in there and it's all solid, i'm pretty sure it's the side windows, I don't think they wind all the way up, i'll have another look tomorrow, I know leaks on these cars is "Standard" so I can live with it

Yeah i'll try and find out, the car will be garaged and rarely will it see rain so hopefully it shouldn't be too much of a problem

When you say window area??? common leaks are: windshield gasket, wiper pivot seals, missing door membranes, door seals and poor seam sealing.
Trunk leaks are poor seal, leaking back lights, bottom corners of the rear screen leaking.

Yeah I will get someone to pour some water over the car and i'll sit it in it and see where the problem lies, I had the same problem with the black Mustang, don't think I ever totally cured the problem

Have a good look up under the dash when someone's pouring water over the base of the front screen. Make sure they pour it over the wiper pivots too cos, as Alex says, wiper pivot seals are a common place for water to get into the footwells.
We put up with years of water dripping onto our feet while driving (in the Satellite), thinking it was from the 'screen, before we heard of the infamous wiper pivot seals.

They're a pig to replace tho as they're up where yo can either see them or feel them, but not both at the same time

Cowl at top of 'A' post, water runs down inside 'A' post and appears in front footwell.Check fresh air vents in front kick panels, they only have foam gaskets. Lay on your back in the trunk and look up under the rear window,if theres leaks you'll most likely see some staining.Rear 1/4 windows let water down on top of the inner sill which then appears in rear footwells. Move to Arizona.

I was not shocked to find there was leaks this time, when it happened on the black Mustang I thought I was the only one until I read nearly every yank has similar problems
