Caster/camber

I fitted new UCA bushes and top ball joints tonight on the road runner. Found I could set the passenger side caster and camber with no problem, a few degrees positive caster with some negative camber. On the drivers side I can't get positive caster and negative camber at the same time. The rear adjuster is fully inward and the front adjuster is fully outward and I have zero camber and zero caster. Problem is, without cutting and welding the UCA, which is more important to get right, caster or camber.

Did you use the aftermarket eccentric bushes?

I would get the steering geometry set up @ garage,if the camber is not set up right, you'll wear tyres.Castor had no effect on mine,as it doesn't self center anyway. :D Check the steering box is tight, otherwise the readings will be all over the place, don't ask me how I know,I just do,alright   :D :D

No I didn't use eccentric bushes Adam just standard rubber ones. Thinking about it, it doesn't look like there's a lot I can do and since it drives ok, I'll leave it as it is for now.

Mick, yer in Brum, didn't Budgie mention that he could do alignment on our cars a little while back?

Yes I think he has the gear, and it's probably far more accurate than a simple caster/camber gauge but there's just no more adjustment left. I could adjust it to factory specs but that would mean positive camber and negative castor!

I know it's not the way to go,but if you can't set it up to FSM specs.then you have a problem somewhere.

Agree with Adam, you need to get to the bottom of why. A different set up side to side isn't good!
