Ok, got a bit of a problem with a temp gauge.
While doing the MAD electrical upgrade/bypass of the ammeter as mentioned in a previous post I installed a VDO volt meter, I also had a matching temp gauge and also an oil pressure gauge, so I thought it was a good idea use all three.....connected them ...

Hi, can anybody give me a definitive answer on whether I need to have seatbelts in my car for the MOT.
its a 68 Dart, when I bought it, it had a current MOT but no seat belts, its been of the road for a few years for various reasons but now its about ready for an MOT and I'm not convinced ill get ...

Mate, took front and back out of my 68 Dart myself and reinstalled using the original rubbers. Didn't have any problems leaving both refits part fitted over night.
Maybe others with far more experience would disagree, I may have been lucky.

Thanks Dave, no electronic ignition at the moment and as far as I can tell, the wiring looks unmolested, so like you I've gone ahead and ordered a new VR but I will take your advice and go back through the loom and also recheck the earthing.

Hi, any advice would be helpful please.
did some rewiring on my dart this week eliminating the duff ammeter and installing a new volt meter, when I started the car the volt meter was reading 12v, as the revs increased so did the voltage reading up to 16v !! the reading was the same at the battery ...
