Hi there - Does anyone know what the "Relay" object is on the RHS on a 1970 Challenger (with A/C) Dash?
It has a 3 pin connector on it and is located on the extreme RHS past the Glove box. Can't seem to locate it on any diagrams - I am assuming it is the "Door Ajar" Relay, but again am guessing.
I can't remember! I think so. I remember reading something about it. I don't have one you see. Have a read of all the optional goodies. I think it will be listed there. I don't have time tonight. Just off for a curry now.
Well if it is the one I am thinking of it seems to be wired into the blower motor for the air con and not the interior lighting.
What colour are the wires attcahed to it Pete? It IS on the wiring diagrams.
Challengers sometimes had a delay relay for the headlights and a "key in ignition" system that used a relay as well I think? But being in the position it is this one must be something to do with delaying the blower motor or air con pump before starting the engine or something?
The Plug that goes onto the "relay" is a 3 pin variety :
2 x Yellow with Black Tracer; 1 Black with White tracer; 1 x Red.
................................RED
...................BK/W...............Y/BK x 2
I would be really greatful if you could track this down; I have got mos tof the rest of the loom covered; but this bit seems integral with the main dash loom and not a "plug in" addition like the A/C Switch harnerss.
That "Black" wire with the tracer is dark blue not black!
What you have there is the "key in ignition warning buzzer". You can find that on the circuit wiring diagrams but it only shows you where it is actually physically located on the Dart diagram.
Let me know if you need me to go through the wiring diagram with you.
