Looks like tomorrow night will be a washout Andy.

Going from what Blue just said I would try raising the end of that vent up so that the end is well above the oil level in the trans and see if that works.

hi dave just thought, I post some photos of my box, I have piped the beather into the dipstick tube, as a quick fix, so an oil that gets pumped out just goes down the diptube tube, the first photo just shows the beather fitted on top of the box

Good idea on the breather. I just hope it is vented normally as well otherwise pressure will build in the trans.

Got a question. Why is the speedo cable not connected to the GV unit?

I also just saw that on the GV tag it says "Assembled under licence" to a company in ENGLAND. Which is what we were talking about on here a few months ago.

george was going to get me a speedo cable, but was sent the wrong one, will it just be the same as a normal one for a std 727 ?
If you are interested I will find out who made the gv unit next time the RR is on the lift
The satillite's on the lift at present gettting a fair bit of work on it, ie service, mot jobs & a willwood brake conversion that came with the car but has never been fitted
The factory rev counter in the satillite recently stopped working any ideas ? I tried to take the clocks out but it seemed a proper mission, how do they come out without levering & propably damgeing the lower padded trim anyone ?

does this mean they are made here by GKN and shipped to US?

Yes. But I think the trans adaptors and maybe the electronics are made over there? I have not checked out that link yet so maybe the answer is already there.

Andy I have a GV unit on my Challenger. I was their second or third UK customer. I just had never seen that stamped on mine. I will take a look when I get 5 mins at home.

The unit uses the stock speedo as far as a speed sensor. Then there is a short extension from the speed sensor to a right angled adaptor modified in house by GV to fit their GM type speedo drive.

Without the speedo cable fitted the speed sensor cannot work. If that cannot work the GV unit cannot work in automatic mode.

If you order these parts from GV you might need to order the modified right angle adaptor I mentioned. Or you might get away with their standard one. You look as if you have more room for the standard one than I did on the Chally.
