Thats a great looking job you have done on that car. I have never been brave enough to do a full ground up restoration but the more I see on this forum the more determined I am to have a go. Now I know that yours and Adams will be at the show I have got my tickets and will be there on the Saturday. :D

Been a long while since I've added anything to this thread, which probably is a good thing depending on who's side your on, the General's or my wallet's!

Anyway, had to replace the rear proshaft UJ towards the end of last year, no problem I thought only 4 tiny little bolts and she's out. Little did I know that as 1 of the few items that didn't get looked at during the resto, the UJ had been truly "Yeehaa'd" sometime in its life.

After much frustration ordering and returning UJ's I decided to take the prop up to Hausers. Geoff explained that what had happened was the propshaft end was a mid sized Hardy-spicer size UJ and the diff yoke was some other very small size, suspected to be original size for the 318 lump.

Geoff set to and made me a UJ out of 2 others. He also noticed that as well as the prop having the different ends (Gearbox end was Chrysler) that from where the paint had worn from the trail shaft seal that the prop was only just engaging in the splines, so it was also too short.

So back in March I returned to Hausers where they made me up a heavy duty propshaft with massive 1350 series yokes :thumbright:

This time as they had the General there they also noticed that the backlash in the gears was massive, again the back axle didn't get a look in during the resto.

So last Thursday we went back to Hausers and had fitted a set of 3:55 gears to replace the worn and lethargic 2:73's and a posi-diff :D At the time I though having the posi was a bit extravagant but judging by the pictures I think it was just in time1!!!!!

And now the good news..................

We'll as it was raining on the way back and I had to bed the gears in and I had my Mum with me who came up for company (awwww luv my Mum) I couldn't really try him out. But on light throttle he really takes off! You can so feel the difference. Roll on EuroNats :thumbright:

The new diff looks the business - i cant wait to see you light up both rears
