B-body front screen anybody ??
Has anybody got a front screen for a B-body (1970)
The one i have has 4 stone chips, and a screen specialist has told me that if it has more than 3 stone chips its basically scrap . What do you reckon? Is this rubbish or will it not pass an M.O.T with this screen ?

You can have as many chips as you like if they're not in the drivers field of vision as defined in the mot schedule. Can the chips not be repaired?

Well thats what i would have thaught latil , but the people i spoke to yesterday at A1 windscreens said they wont fix more than 3 stone chips
Only one is in the line of vision but im not sure weather its repairable or not as i know nothing about windscreen repairs.
May i'll make a few more phone calls and see if i can get some body to come and look.
Basically all im trying to do is get the screens out so i can paint the car. Then get em refitted when im ready for putting them back in.
I wont attempt to take the screens out myself for fear of busting them.

Hiya Ian.
Had some body round , said it couldnt be removed without a big risk of breaking it. So in order to keep a lid on a big can of worms ive decided to leave it where it is and get it repaired in place. Same with the rear.
The screens have been out at some time and refitted correctly all the seals are good and i'll bet my life thay dont leak !!
The rear screen has been removed by a previous owner and some welding has been done under the scuttle.
Even the side window seals have been done at some time recantly,as there like new, so i think it would be pointless to remove any of it for now.
Ofcourse it means i cant remove the dash panal but its all good under there anyway.
Had just a bit of surface rust in the footwells which has been cleaned up and ready for paint at the mo.
Ive got almost everything i need to get it up and running.
Just the carpets and trim to sort out, and this is what has slowed me down
financial embarrisment.
Pretty soon i'll have the heater, wiring and dash board back in the car and it'll be on the road makin some noise
It'll be nice to have a turn key car at last
Even if it does get awarded the ugliest B bod in the U.K
Ive planned to paint the car in 08 if all goes well and i dont break it
