Preston cruise is possibly going to be its first venue or the Nags whichever is nearest when ive got that M.O.T certificate to wave about 8-) . But Ian if you have any other ideas i'd be interested. which ever itrs going to be a big day for me as im a mopar virgin having never even sat in one before i got mine.

Ive got the ball rolling where the exhaust is concerned and it looks like the guy will fit it in the garage that saves a lot of hassle for me.

My youngest son is a real handful and keeps us on our toes although he's not convinced this bird will ever fly , cant blame him its been in there half his life

Thanks for the link :thumbright: I'll have a look at the feb CA too

John, back on the windscreen topic for a mo..... ;)

When we 'restored' our Satellite a few (ok, 16) years ago, we had a few stone chips in the windscreen, so had a new one fitted and got the insurance company to pay for it, saying it was cracked due to stone chips. All we paid was the excess. Got one with a top tint, too.

Worth thinking about for when you do get the car painted :-k

Cricky........Thats brilliant ! Why didnt i think of that :reindeer:

My dad has done the very same thing. And if the insurance co. is paying (less the excess ofcourse) , would thay be obliged to replace it and source one from the states if thay needed to ?

And without checking im pretty sure ive got the screen covered on my insurance.

Spose the only reason it didnt occur to me was because i'd originally planned to paint the car with the class removed. But i really didnt fancy the prospect of removing and refitting the front screen looks a nighmare, and i know Ivor ended up with his broken. and i dont just mean the rubber , the trim looks as if it could be easily damaged getting it off. And ive seen so many B bods without the trim, kind of makes you wonder why it didnt go back on .

Thanks Rob thats a great help. :thumbright:

Glad to be of help John :D

The guy we got our screen off was Peter Jones, who's based in Barton, Beds. His number was (& still is, I think) 01582 881260. Maybe someone else here can confirm? If they're not too busy arguing

He keeps a stock of most of the popular US car glass, but at worst will be able to get one in for you with his next order.

I spoke to him a couple of years ago re availablity of screens for our 63 Dodge. He said all glass is still being remade in the US but the company he buys from only makes them twice a year (ie every 6 months).
So if he hasnt got what you need in stock, at worst it'll be a 6 months wait.

He came & fitted it for us too. We paid him, then sent the invoice to the ins company for a refund. Dont think we had to wait very long so he must have had it in stock (69 Sport Satellite).

Worth asking him if he'd come to you though...

I used Peter Jones a number of years ago, he replaced a screen in my Olds Cutlass. Top job and a good bloke too. He came and fitted it even though he was so far away from me, apparently he just waits until he has enough orders in the same area then arranges a time and day (may have changed this way of doing things by now though). He said he'd be with me early morning, he was there at something like 7am  , first class job though
