Oil pressure gauge

Post by Anonymous »

Hi all, long dark winter evenings = time in workshop working on car !!

my oil pressure gauge is not working, haven't started any sort of diagnostics yet, and oil pressure is obviously fine as engine runs fine etc etc,

I am assuming it is either the gauge is U/S or the sender unit duff - just wondered if there is a common "we all had that problem and it was the sender" type problem before I start fiddling with it

BTW if it is the gauge - anyone reccomend a gauge repair / replacement ??

It is usually the sender, beware if you run any tests, the guages run on 5v not 12....

With mine it was the little plug that kept falling off the sender unit that gave me grief. I connected it, revved the engine and off it would fall! In the end took it off and replaced it with one of those sets of three from Summit. (Ok confession time i didn't do it - Guy did - but it was my idea i think!)
