Sticking door handle buttons

bought new (mopar) door handles for my car, but the buttons seem to always stick in, even tried lubing them all up, still stick. means can't shut door without wobbling the button until it comes out. What am i doing wrong?

has noone ever had this prob? passenger door flew open on my today, becuase the button stuck in from when the last person opened it. luckily it didnt hit anyhing.

I have had that problem with my charger, but only on my driver door, hopefully they'll sort that out whilst repairing everything else......

Have you tried posting on www.dodge-charger.com?

update:

Finally found my self being rs'd to take the handles out of my car as i had had enough of the buttons jamming in. Stripped the handles down and discovered the bad casting (jagged edges etc) was causing the buttons to stick. I Filed the metal, then polished some areas , then applied some grease and reassembled. Smooth as anything now.

Nice job Will. The door has flown open on mine before but not because of that. It did bend the hinge pins a bit and it nows drops more than it did before, which is why it flew open initially!

the obvious thing of course would be to weld your doors shut, and use the windows as point of entry & exit :joker:

hmm doesnt work in the real world becuase you can never park the car with the windows up, else you wouldnt be able to get out of the car. Notice how it never rains on Dukes of Hazzard, not only that, but it never seems to get dark either!
